Roanoke home prices rise in August 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in August 2017 in Roanoke rose by $11,950 while total sales decreased by 14.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In August 2017, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $106,450 - a 12.6% increase over the $94,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were seven homes sold in Roanoke in August 2016.

The median sales tax in Roanoke for 2017 was $2,531. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,436. This marks an increase of 3.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
