Q4 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Mason County?

There were eight offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter that live in Mason County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Peoria Standard.

The data shows that five men and three women were released in Mason County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 48-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2015.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Kenneth Shilling. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2015 when he was 44 years old. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter in each Mason County municipality.
