City of Chillicothe Cemetery, Parks, Recreation & Beautification Committee met May 21.

The Cemetery and Parks Committee met on May 21, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Chairman Jenkins called the meeting to order.
Present: Chairman Jenkins
Alderman Bredeman
Alderman Connor
Also in attendance: Mayor White
Clerk Hurd
Absent: Superintendent Sutherland
Public Comment: None
Request - Recycling:
Mayor White presented emails from IVC students requesting that the city have more recycling bins in public places. A lengthy discussion was held. The consensus of the committee was to start implementing recycling within the City Hall and other city own buildings. Mayor White asked Clerk Hurd to look into companies that offer paper recycling/shredding.
City Park Stage Steps:
Superintendent Sutherland presented a quote from Engbrecht Concrete for the installation of concrete steps in front of the stage at City Park. The quote was in the amount of $7,500.00. Discussion was held. The consensus of the committee was to seek council approval for the project payable from TIF Business Fund.
Meeting Dates:
Chairman Jenkins requested that the committee meeting the 3rd Tuesday of the Month at 4:30pm. All committee members were in agreement.
OLD BUSINESS:
Voucher Program Update:
Alderman Connor informed the committee that due to some repairs that are being made at Wigand Disposal not vouchers will be accepted the week of May 20 thru May 24.
Shademaker Update:
Alderman Connor reported that the new planter’s downtown and the old planters that were relocated to Moffitt Park have been planted.
Eagle Landing Update:
No report.
Sycamore Trails Park Update:
Alderman Connor gave an update on the committee that was formed separate from the City to raise money for the park. Alderman Connor and Alderman Jenkins will plan a future meeting with the committee.
Downtown Planters Update:
Alderman Connor reported under shademaker update.
SUMMARY
COUNCIL AGENDA ITEMS –
Priority one TIF Business Project park improvement be approved as a project, and approve an expenditure of $7,500.00, payable to Engbrecht Concrete for the installation of concrete steps in front of the stage at the city park. Payable from the TIF Business Fund.
CHAIRMAN ACTION –
There being no further business, meeting adjourned at 5:44pm.
