July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Peoria convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in Peoria during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Peoria were men. The younger parolee was a 41-year-old man sentenced in 2011. The other was a 50-year-old man sentenced in 1989.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Christopher A. Lee. He was convicted of homicide in 1989 when he was 20 years old. He is now 50.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the second half of 2018 who were convicted of homicide.
