Jan.-June 2018 Recap: Parolees in Peoria convicted of sex crimes

There were three offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Peoria during the first half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 34. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced in 2011, and the oldest was a 47-year-old man sentenced in 2012.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was David J. Jones Jr. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2009 when he was 22 years old. He is now 31.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the first half of 2018 who were convicted of sex crimes.
