Mason City home prices rise in the second quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2018 in Mason City rose by $12,280 while total sales decreased by 44.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2018, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $73,000 - a 20.2% increase over the $60,720 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were nine homes sold in Mason City in the second quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Mason City for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $1,550, approximately 2.1% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2018.
