Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Lake County?

There were 113 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Lake County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Peoria Standard.

The data shows that 104 men and nine women were released in Lake County. Of the parolees, five were veterans, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019, and the oldest was a 74-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2013.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Ricky Knight. He was convicted of a sex crime in 1982 when he was 25 years old. He is now 63.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Lake County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
