Analysis: Pekin pays $7.57 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Pekin Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.3 percent of the $3,414,370 the Pekin Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.57 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Pekin contributed $3,016,014 to the fund, which saw a $552,719 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $398,356, or 11.7 percent, in 2018.
