Graduates earn 460 degrees, certificates from Spoon River College

About 32.2 percent of the 460 degrees and certificates handed out by Spoon River College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Canton conferred 121 certificates and 27 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies. Data shows the school gave out 128 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies, followed by 52 certificates in nursing assistant/aide and patient care assistant/aide and 49 certificates in welding technology/welder.

The college enrolled 1,436 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
