Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Black Hawk College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Black Hawk College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois residents paid $7,500 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 2 percent more than residents this year, or $7,650. Their price tag was unchanged from $7,650 in 2017-18.

About 95 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents. And about 5 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 60 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 279 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.5 million and 92 students took out student loans totaling more than $344,332.

Including all undergraduates (4,333), 1,873 students used grants or scholarships totaling $10.1 million, and 504 students took out $2.1 million in federal student loans.
