Village of Swansea Park Board met July 11.

Village Liaison: Marilyn Neumeyer
President Mike opened meeting with Pledge of Allegiance at 7:03am, followed by discussion of Agenda Items. Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve 13 June minutes made by Rose, second by Jonas. Motion approved.
Discussion of Clinton Hills: Matt made several suggestions for family activities. Discussion tabled till August meeting. Disk golf is being well used. Suggestion to have tournaments, including some out of local area, was widely accepted. Jonas has contact for organizing tournaments. Redoing all the trail paths is on-hold for funding. Patriots have $1000 for solar fountain in the “moss scum” lake. Would take $10,000 to complete project.
Spooktacular: Still planning for event on October 24. Tribout cancelled all events for this summer. No rides will be available as they are not insured. Activities planned so far are games, costume parade, pumpkin decorating, trunk or treat. We have prizes, sponsor money from last year. Rocky will contribute.
Pavilion and Building Rentals: Rental of Thompson Bldg. Mike attended meeting with Chief Johnson, Ben Schloesser and our Mayor. List of items covered is attached. One of the items listed is selling the commercial gas store and replacing it with non-commercial electric stove (will require installing wall plug). Also needed, a window in the door and dusk to dawn lights. Town Board has the final approval. There will be a six-month trial. Cost to the Village for heating, cooling, insurance and maintenance is the same whether building is rented or not.
Patriots: Marilyn said chairs need to be replaced; probable cost $3000. Offer old chairs for sale. New microwave; cost about $250.

General Discussion: David checked out fitness trail. Looks close to being finished. Path for Whiteside School should be done. A bridge is needed over the creek.
