Northern Tazewell Fire Protection District responded to 13 calls in 2018 - 80.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Northern Tazewell included eight fires - three structure fires and five other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $82,800 in fire loss - or about $10,350 per fire.

The department also received four false calls, including one malicious call and three other false calls.

The Northern Tazewell Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $290,377 in 2018.
