Marquette Heights Fire District responded to 17 calls in 2018 - 22.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Marquette Heights included 13 fires - seven structure fires, one vehicle fire and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $14,500 in fire loss - or about $1,115 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.
