A recent acquisition of a Peoria-based audiovisual systems integration firm by a multifaceted organization in Peoria Heights bodes well for the future, the CEOs of both companies said in a recent news release.

Pearl Company's Pearl Technology has acquired IAS Technology, formerly Integrated Audio Systems, a provider of integrated audiovisual solutions in Central Illinois for almost 30 years, a joint news release issued Feb. 22 said.

"Adding IAS to our core capabilities positions us for future growth across the nation and brings even more services to current customers," Pearl said in the release. "We also look forward to additional opportunities with new customers and partners as a result."

The type of video conferencing that IAS Technology provides is becoming more critical to Pearl clients, and Pearl Technology, also headquartered in Peoria Heights, will be strengthened by the acquisition, according to the news release.

IAS Technology CEO Jeremy Caldera also expressed in the news release his appreciation for the acquisition.

"I'm looking forward to working with an even bigger client base and to have the support of the IT team at Pearl Technology," Caldera said in the release. "Adding audiovisual integration helps Pearl Technology to offer a complete solution for clients needing both A/V and IT services."

Caldera is a 2016 recipient of the InfoComm International Educator of the Year Award.

Pearl Companies, with headquarters on East Glen Avenue in Peoria Heights, began in 1954 with Pearl Insurance. Pearl Technologies and Pearl Companies also include Pearl Carroll & Associates, Pearl Specialty Solutions, Pearl Benefits, W.B. Griffin & Son, and Pearl Automotive.
