University of IL College of Medicine - Peoria issued the following announcement on Aug. 6
Keila Magafas, UICOMP Rural Student Physician Program (RSPP) student, orchestrated a health fair last week in Gibson City with 15 different organizations as her community health project. UICOMP students, Charlie Cain and Melissa Dominguez volunteered at the event as well.
UICOMP's RSPP is a longitudinal, integrated clerkship that provides third-year medical students an immersive clinical community-based experience. Students spend 28 weeks in a rural community learning one-on-one with physician mentors.
