City of Marquette Heights City Council Met June 28.

CALL TO ORDER
The City Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M by Mayor Hamm.
ROLL CALL
Aldermen present for Roll Call: Alderman Amundson, Neumann, Little, Naugle, Neuhaus, and Greiner.
Also present were Clerk Steele, Attorney Herman, Public Works Director Brown, Police Chief Merritt, Fire Chief Fortier, Office Manager Minson, and Building Inspector Dearborn.
Absent: Treasurer Ghidina.
REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS
Mayor
The annual IML Conference will be September 23rd through September 28th. The CARES Grant could fund this. Cost would include train or mileage, hotel, the conference cost, and food.
Clerk
Clerk Steele requested Executive Session to discuss certain personnel after Council Meeting tonight.
The next Committee Meeting will be Tuesday, July 6th at 6:00 p.m..
Treasurer
Absent. No report.
Attorney
Upcoming IML Conference in September is a valuable learning event. It is especially useful to newly elected officials.
Communication
Clerk Steele read a notice of resignation from Deputy Clerk Ramsay, effective June 30th. Mayor Hamm and Council accepted this resignation with no objections from Council.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
Water and Sewer – Alderman Neuhaus
Phase 1 of Water Tower project is complete. Waiting for Phase 2 invoices. Continuing water meter replacements throughout the city. Fire hydrant flow testing to begin in the upcoming year.
Law Enforcement – Alderman Naugle
Lights are helping in the parking lot at the Dog Park.
Streets – Alderman Little
The engine on the Hustler mower has overheated. Two heads need replaced for approximately $1,100.00. Spoke with German Bliss about the X-Mark. They would take Hustler as a trade-in. Line painting for squad parking will be on agenda. Hot patching will begin in July or when dry.
Public Buildings / Parks – Alderman Greiner
$20,000.00 has been approved for gutter repair at City Office building. $14,600 has been spent so far. There is a leak in the roof vent at Liberty Hall. The drop ceiling will be replaced in Liberty Hall this fall.
Fire – Alderman Amundson
Still looking to sell Engine 311.
Planning – Alderman Neumann
Executive session requested to discuss setting a price for real estate.

Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Amundson to approve $15,000.00 to D&D Pavement Solutions for 2021 spray patching. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Greiner to approve the Contract for Joint Construction of the Bridge on LaSalle Blvd. over Little Lick Creek. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion approved.
Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann to approve $2,147.10 payment to Cranes & Equipment for repair work and annual inspection of the bucket truck. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Amundson to approve $635.00 payment to Ace Striping to repaint parking spaces and crosswalks. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Little made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neuhaus to approve $1,187.50 payment to Maurer Stutz for services for the Right-of-Way Ordinance. Water/Sewer to pay partial. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Neumann made a motion, seconded by Alderman Little to designate Mayor Hamm as Principal Authority for all Illinois Funds Accounts. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Little to approve $19,620.00 payment to GA Rich for Phase 2 repairs to the old blue water tower on Cahokia. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann, to approve $1,700.00 to Water Products for piping materials needed for Phase 2 water tower repair on Cahokia. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Naugle to approve $2,447.00 payment to Leman Precast for new pit cap and lid for Phase 2 water tower repair on Cahokia. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Amundson to approve $1,500.00 payment to Ferguson Waterworks for meter software training. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Neuhaus made a motion, seconded by Alderman Neumann, to approve $1,569.42 to Ferguson Waterworks for replacing 6 water meters. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Alderman Greiner made a motion, seconded by Alderman Little to approve $734.00 payment to Turnbull Electronics for the annual fire alarm inspection at the City Building. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion approved.
Motion to table $800.00 payment to Vital Signs for new police department sign was made by Alderman Greiner and seconded by Alderman Little. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion approved.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS PERTAINING TO THE CITY
The weather siren has not been repaired yet. North Pekin’s siren is tied to ours.
Alderman Neumann made motion, seconded by Alderman Greiner to enter Executive Session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of a specific employee and sale of land. Roll Call Votes: All Ayes. Motion passed.
Council exited Regular Session and entered Executive Session at 7:50 p.m.
Council resumed regular session at 8:35 p.m.
