Report: Pekin School District spent $12,811 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Pekin Consolidated School District 303 was up 20 percent from five years ago, according to the Peoria Standard analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Tazewell County school district spent $10,680 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,811 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,028 to 1,779 students over the same period.

Pekin's spending in 2019-20 was 11.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
