Village of Beach Park Finance Committee met Nov. 17.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jensen at 6:05 p.m. Peggy McHugh took the roll.
October 27, 2021, meeting minutes:
Motion by Trustee Miller, second by Trustee Sittig. Minutes approved.
Monthly Finance Report:
Discussion occurred regarding the delayed billing last year for water purchased from the City of Waukegan. Peggy McHugh stated that this delay was unusual for them but for some reason they had an issue in October and November of last year. Chairman Jensen stated that revenue trends are the same as previous months. Administrator Huber mentioned that Casey’s construction is well under way and discussion occurred.
Annual Tax Levies and Abatement:
Peggy McHugh stated that the levies are for SSA 6, SSA 9-12, and the abatement is for the new GO bonds related to the refinancing of the TIF bonds. Discussion occurred and the committee asked for a cover sheet to be included when the ordinances go to the board in December. Administrator Huber informed the committee that the levy amount is lower this year for SSA 6, and the committee discussed what expenses are eligible to be covered by the SSA 6 tax levy revenues. Peggy McHugh stated that only light infrastructure and pond maintenance related expenses are covered. The committee is in favor of moving the ordinances to the board for approval in December. Chairman Jensen made a motion, Trustee Miller seconded, and all approved.
Warrant List Questions:
Discussion occurred on the warrant list questions submitted by Chairman Jensen. Old Business: None.
New Business:
Peggy McHugh informed the committee that the village was awarded the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Budget Year 2021-2022.
