Analysis: Midwest Central administrators rank 637th in state for average pay

Administrators in Midwest Central Community Unit School District 191 earn an average of $90,760 per year, ranking 637th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 0.7 percent higher than in 2016 and 1.5 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 18.4 percent less than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Midwest Central School District in Mason County enrolled 928 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 155 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
