City of Minonk City Council met March 7.

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting of the Minonk City Council was held at City Hall and was called to order by Mayor Marcoline at 6:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL BY CITY ADMINISTRATOR: Those in attendance: Council Members Lisa Junker, Julie McNamara, Travis Nix and Trent Ruestman.

A. To approve and file the following:
i. Minutes of the February 7, 2022 City Council Meeting
ii. Minutes of the February 15, 2022 Public Works Committee Meeting
iii. Minutes of the January 27, 2022 Filger Library Board
iv. February 2022 Accounts Payable paid in March in the amount of $100,531.50
v. January 2022 City Collector’s Report in the amount of $167,971.34
vi. January 2022 City Clerk’s Report in the amount of $155,622.60
vii. January 2022 City Treasurer’s Report in the amount of $3,781,153.60

ADMINISTRATORS REPORT: Moline updated Council on the following:
∙ AT&T analog line has been canceled and new system for dispatching is up and running.
∙ Ambulance door repair still waiting on parts
∙ Engineer was in town last week to discuss 2022-2023 MFT projects
o Regular road work and redoing Chestnut St.
∙ Getting quotes to fix/stripe City Hall parking lot and Tennis Courts
∙ Contract signed for 6th St. Lift Station Improvements
∙ Vac truck is out for repairs and should have back in a couple days
∙ 2021-22 MFT road work repairs being worked on with contractor at no costs to City
∙ One of two broken sewer tile found during the camera inspection has been fixed.
∙ Both the 6th St. Lift Station and WTP electrical upgrade projects are waiting on parts (July)
∙ Vandalism at the West Side Park caught on camera so Deputy Blair working on that.
∙ Liberty Utilities proposed 800 ace, 200 mega-watt Solar Farm North/East of Minonk open House was last week. Working on good Neighbor agreement for the City to receive annual payments.
∙ PW crew working on Spring items – opening restrooms, fixing potholes, PM equipment
o One of the blowers at the Sewer has an oil leak that needs repaired
o Salt truck repairs (broken spring)
∙ Due to lack of availability this week, will have a Finance Committee meeting week of 3/14. ∙ Scheduling second monthly meeting in both March and April for budget discussions and final approval.
o Hoping to know about Grant Funds in April so we have a better idea of funding for 22-23 budget projects.
∙ Working on resurrecting Businessman and woman’s Association to go along with the Event Committee we have now.

MAYORS COMMENTS: Reminded everyone that Congressman Darin Lahood staff will be set up at City Hall Thursday March 10, 2022 for question and answer secession. Also wanted to congratulate the Fieldcrest high School basketball team for their successful season and State tournament run.
