Bradley had four student-athletes in action during the final day of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships West Preliminary, but none of the four were able to advance in their respective events at John McConnell Field, bringing an end to the 2021-22 Bradley Athletics competition season.
Sophomore Sophia McDonnell got Saturday's action started for the Braves by running in the Women's 3,000m. McDonnell was running in the lead pack early in the race, but took a fall over the water hurdle and was unable to recover, finishing 42nd overall in a time of 10:53.69.
Sisters Julia Nielsen and Wilma Nielsen followed by once again running together in the Women's 800m. Though Wilma Nielsen was just one-hundredth of a second off her first-round time Thursday, Saturday's time of 2:06.08 left her 18th overall, while Julia Nielsen finished 25th in 2:12.15.
Freshman Nicola Jansen was Bradley's sixth student-athlete to compete during the West Preliminary, taking the track for Saturday night's Women's 5,000m semifinal. Jansen finished 15th among the 23 runners in the first heat with a time of 16:41.18.
In addition to the four runners in Saturday's final day at the West Preliminary, sophomore Tiana LoStracco ran the first-round of the Women's 1,500m Thursday and junior Charlie Parrish competed in the semifinals of the Men's 3,000m Steeplechase Friday.
