Mason County 76th highest taxed Illinois county in March

Mason County taxpayers paid the 76th highest amount in sales taxes in March, according to Illinois tax records.

Taxpayers in Mason County paid $94,631 in March.

Mason County was ranked 75th the month before.

Of all the taxes Mason County residents paid for, County School Facility Tax was the most contributed to tax.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
