City of Chillicothe Public Safety Committee met June 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Members of the Public Safety Committee met in person at 5:16 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.

Public Safety Committee members present at the meeting in the Council Chambers: Chairman Jenkins, Alderperson Braun, Alderperson Bredeman

Others in attendance in the Council Chambers: Chief Mettille, Amanda Oedewaldt, Mayor Hughes, Alderperson Connor

Absent: N/A

Chairman Jenkins called the meeting to order at 5:16 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

There was no public comment.

SPECIAL EVENT REQUEST - CASTAWAYS:

Chief Mettille reported that Amanda Oedewaldt would like to hold a special event on July 16th, 2022 as a fundraiser for Freedom Paws. Chief Mettille explained the layout of the event and that some barricades from the City would need to be used for the street closure. Discussion was had by the Committee regarding shutting down Wilmot Street at Fifth Street and it was decided that the Public Works Department would put a sign up at the intersection of Wilmot and Fifth Street stating that you will not be able to gain access onto Fourth Street. It was the consensus of the Committee to make this an agenda item.
