Q1 2022 Recap: 18 parolees from Peoria County convicted of crimes against persons set for release

There were 18 offenders convicted of crimes against persons living in Peoria County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows 17 men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 34. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced in 2020, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Terrill Lewis. He was convicted in 2009 when he was 22 years old. He is now 36.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
