Q2 2022 Recap: 20 parolees from Peoria County convicted of property crimes set for release

There were 20 offenders convicted of property crimes living in Peoria County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows 16 men and four women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 34. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 69-year-old man sentenced in 1983.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Johnnie Johnson. He was convicted in 1983 when he was 29 years old. He is now 69.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of property crimes were paroled during the second quarter of 2022 in each Illinois county.
