City of El Paso City Council met June 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

A Regular Meeting of the El Paso City Council was called to order by Mayor Price on June 5, 2023 at 7:00 PM.

Council Members Present: Kilpatrick, Ragusa, Brucker, Moore and Mool. Absent: none. Late: Howard at 7:06 PM. It was reported the meeting is being recorded.

Present in Person: Director of Public Services Barry Kauther, Clerk David Fever, Treasurer Linda Haas, Also present: Kim Kearney, Tabitha, Israel, Shepherd and Elliot Newark and Jennie Kearney as the local press.

Also present by Zoom Application: Administrative Assistant, Sandee Kessinger; Recreation Director, Colton Scott and Public Works Supervisor, Casey Jones. No other names on zoom software.

Pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited.

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mool, seconded by Moore to approve the agenda as presented. Voice vote taken of all ayes.

Consent Agenda.

Council Minutes: The minutes of the May 15, 2023 City Council Meeting were presented in written form.

Treasurer's Report: The Corrected Treasurer's report for the month ending April 30, 2023 showing investments, revenue and expenses was presented in written form.

Register of Bills: The Register of Bills in the amount of $ 470,289.75 as of June 5th was presented.

Approval of Consent Agenda: Motion by Brucker, seconded by Moore to approve items on consent agenda. Voice call vote taken of all ayes.

Public Comments: Jennie Kearney asked about the blockage of sidewalk in front of 35 E. Front St. She was told that barricades would be installed tomorrow to block a couple parking spaces and reroute sidewalk into parking area.

Old Business:

TNT Holding Liquor License Request: After a brief discussion. Motion by Moore, seconded by Kilpatrick to approve replacing TNT's current Class J License with a Class C liquor license.

Roll call vote taken of all ayes.

New Business:

MFT Bids: Motion by Mool, seconded by Brucker to approve and acceptance of proposal to furnish materials and approve awarding for Motor Fuel Tax usage. The approved bid is $146,832.50 by Steffen's #3D Construction, Inc. Roll call vote taken of all ayes.

Director of Public Service: Report was presented in written form. He also advised Council of training needed by all for Sexual Harassment Prevention and Cyber Security. He also thanked employees that helped with last Saturday's Clean up Day.

Mayor's Report: The Mayor commented on the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony last Thursday and Open House of American Builders Recreation Building.

City Council Comments: Mool spoke of the Recreation Building and support shown by members of our Community.

Police Chief Report: The Chief was not present.

Operations Supervisor: Casey was available on Zoom with no questions presented.

Parks and Recreation Department: Colton also reported on Zoom of current programs.

Clerk's Report: The Clerk had nothing additional to report.

Attorney Stoller was absent.

Motion by Mool seconded by Brucker to adjourn. Voice vote taken of all ayes. Meeting adjourned at 7:32 PM.
