The city of Peoria has announced the launch of the 2024 Commercial Renovation Grant program, aimed at assisting small businesses in making improvements to their commercial properties. As stated by the city officials, the grants can range from $5,000 to $25,000 for projects enhancing the interior or exterior of the business.

According to the announcement, past recipients have utilized the funding for various purposes such as façade beautification, fixture upgrades, improved signage, painting, and flooring replacement. The program, now in its third year, aims to support small businesses in Peoria in their efforts to enhance their commercial spaces.

Interested applicants are required to meet certain criteria to qualify for the grant. They must be a commercially zoned property, propose a project that does not require a city of Peoria construction permit, be an incorporated business, provide multiple cost estimates for project work, offer current commercial and property insurance, and be in good financial standing with the city of Peoria.

Applications for the grant program will be accepted from March 11th through April 5th at 5:00 PM, with the application available online at www.peoriagov.org/CommercialRenovation2024. For further inquiries, individuals can contact the Economic Development Department at 309-494-8640 or via email at economicdevelopment@peoriagov.org.

This initiative by the city of Peoria aims to support the local business community and encourage commercial revitalization through the renovation and enhancement of commercial properties.
