April 9, 2024 (PEORIA, IL) - The City of Peoria has announced upcoming updates to its online services, which will impact users making online payments for stormwater bills and utilizing the City's permitting, licensing, and planning self-service website.

The system upgrades will result in interruptions for those trying to pay their stormwater bill online or engage with the permitting, licensing, and planning services online. The City of Peoria's websites for these services will be down from April 12, 2024, at 12:01 am and will resume on April 16, 2024.

During this period, individuals needing these services are encouraged to visit the Development Center at 419 Fulton Street, Room 203 during regular business hours or email communitydevelopment@peoriagov.org for assistance. For payment-related matters, individuals can visit the Treasury office, Room 100.

According to an unnamed source, the upgrades to the Permitting, Licensing, and Planning self-service website will bring about added security measures and introduce a new web address. Users may need to re-register their email associated with their accounts due to a new login procedure. The site's operation will remain the same, with only the login process undergoing changes.

Similarly, the Stormwater Online Payment Portal will undergo improvements in design for easier use. Payments through the current system will cease at 12:01 am on April 12, 2024, and will resume on the new site on April 16, 2024. During the system upgrade, credit card payments will not be processed, and in-person payments at the Treasurer’s Office will only accept cash, check, or money orders.

After the upgrade, users on the new stormwater billing page will retain their current username and password. However, individuals will need to register their Stormwater Billing account with their login information and update any autopay or stored payment information.

The City of Peoria advises residents to make payments in person or through the drop box at City Hall's Fulton Street entrance during this period. In-person payments are expected to be processed by April 18, 2024.
