SW Water Street in the city will be closed for a good cause on Saturday, May 4. The closure is to accommodate the OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute Nun Run for Cancer 5K & 1 Mile Walk. The closure will be in effect from 6 am to 11 am, affecting the stretch between Harrison Street and Main Street.
The event will lead to the closure of several intersections along Water Street, including Harrison Street, Liberty Street, and Main Street. In addition, there will be no on-street parking permitted on Water Street between Harrison and Main streets.
Drivers are advised to take note of these closures and be on the lookout for bagged "No Parking" meters to ensure compliance with the temporary traffic arrangements.
