May 31, 2024, Peoria, IL – Brailen R. Moore, 18, has been charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon following a shooting incident that occurred Sunday evening at the Beck Gas Station in Peoria Heights. The State’s Petition to detain was granted, and Moore will remain in custody until trial.

At approximately 5:45 pm on Sunday, officers responded to reports of shots fired at Becks Gas Station on War Memorial Drive. Upon arrival, both the victim and suspect had already fled the scene. Surveillance footage from the gas station revealed a car pulling up to the location. The front passenger, identified as Moore, along with another rear passenger exited the vehicle and approached a man who was pumping gas. An argument ensued among the three men before Moore and his companion returned to their car. At this point, Moore allegedly drew a firearm and discharged it nine times out of the window towards the individual he had been arguing with. Although no injuries were reported, the victim's vehicle sustained multiple gunshot damages.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective Jodie Brackney at the Peoria Heights Police Department at 309-686-2370 or 309-688-3461.
