City of Chillicothe Public Safety Committee met May 7.

Members of the Public Safety Committee met in person on May 7, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Public Safety Committee members present at the meeting in the Council Chambers: Chairman Jeff Jenkins, Alderperson T. White
Public Safety Committee members absent: Alderperson Bredeman
Other Absent: Police Chief Cooper, Interim Fire Chief Jim Benisch
Others in attendance in the Council Chambers: Mayor Hughes, Clerk Byrnes, Alderperson Sharp
PUBLIC COMMENT:
None.
PURPOSE:
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT – IVC AND CITY OF CHILLICOTHE - SRO
After a brief discussion it was the consensus of the Committee to have City Attorney Kevin Day to draft the Ordinance. (See attached).
TASER CARTRIDGES:
Chairman Jenkins announced that Chief Cooper had requested approval of payment to Axon in the amount of $1,597.44 for taser cartridges for the police department. It was the consensus of the Committee to move this agenda item to Council for approval.
AMMUNITION:
Chairman Jenkins announced that Chief Cooper had requested approval of payment to Ray O'Herron in the amount of $1,420.00 for ammunition for the police department.
SPECIAL EVENT REQUEST:
"2nd Annual Ethan Koch Memorial Cruise-In", as submitted by Beau Ledbetter to be held September 7, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., 2nd Street business district. The consensus of the Committee was to move this agenda item to Council for approval.
SPECIAL EVENT REQUEST:
"Downtown Thursday's" as submitted by Amanda Beadles, to be held June 20, 2024 and July 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The consensus of the Committee was to move this agenda item to Council for approval
REQUEST FOR LIVE ENTERTAINMENT:
Request for live entertainment as submitted by the American Legion Post #9, to be held Saturday May 18, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the band "Off The Cuff". The consensus of the Committee was to move this agenda item to Council for approval.
REQUEST FOR LIVE ENTERTAINMENT:
Request for live entertainment as submitted by The Mill to be held in their temporary beer garden beginning June 8th through September 28, 2024, 12:00 noon to midnight. (See attached schedule). The consensus of the Committee was to move this agenda item to Council for approval.
