Peoria Standard

Numerous intersections and roads throughout Downtown and the North Valley will be restricted on Saturday, June 15, from 6 am to approximately 10:30 am due to the Steamboat Classic 15K/4-mile walk sponsored by ShaZam Racing. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and patience along the race route, consider alternative routes, and expect delays.

The race will start near Jefferson Avenue on Main Street. Participants will proceed north on Main Street, east on Monroe Street, north on Abington Street, loop around the entrance of Glen Oak Park, head south on Abington Street, west on Madison Avenue, south on Main Street, and finish at Water Street.

The Peoria Police Department will manage temporary restrictions at several intersections. Drivers will be allowed to cross when the road is clear of participants:

- The intersection of Main Street and Adams Street.

- The intersection of Main Street and Jefferson Avenue.

Complete road closures during the race include:

- Water Street at Liberty Street and Hamilton Boulevard.

- Main Street at Washington Street, Madison Avenue, Monroe Street, and Perry Avenue.

- Hamilton Boulevard at Perry Avenue, Monroe Street, Madison Avenue, and Jefferson Avenue.

- Fayette Street at Perry Avenue, Monroe Street, and Madison Avenue.

- Spalding Avenue at Adams Street, Jefferson Avenue, Madison Avenue, and Monroe Street.

- Bryan Street at Jefferson Avenue, Madison Avenue, and Monroe Street.

- Hancock Street at Madison Avenue and Monroe Street.

- Green Street at Madison Avenue and Monroe Street.
