Rainfall in the City of Peoria has led to a combined sewer overflow (CSO) into the Illinois River. This overflow has occurred from one or more locations indicated on the provided map.

Residents are advised to avoid full-body contact with the Illinois River in areas downstream from Detweiller Marina. There is a risk of illness if water is swallowed while swimming, jet skiing, or water skiing in these areas following a CSO event.

The City of Peoria is currently undertaking projects aimed at reducing CSOs into the Illinois River during periods of wet weather. These efforts are part of compliance with the Clean Water Act and the CSO Consent Decree.
