Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 15, lane closures will go into effect on W Pioneer Parkway between N Allen Road and N Sommer Street. These closures are necessary for the Pioneer Parkway and University Street Intersection Reconstruction Project.
Eastbound and westbound lanes on Pioneer Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction. These lane closures are scheduled to last through December, weather permitting.
Westbound traffic will be permitted to make left turns onto southbound University Street. Eastbound traffic will be permitted to make left turns onto northbound University Street. Business access will be maintained during the construction phases.
Drivers should be mindful of these lane closures and use caution in the area. Alternative routes, if possible, should be considered. Additional lane closures will be forthcoming as construction phases change.
The Pioneer Parkway and University Street Intersection Reconstruction Project is a two-year, $9.1 million project that is expected to be completed in 2025.
