Phone lines have been restored for the Police Department's non-emergency number (309-673-4521) and the Fire Department's non-emergency number (309-674-3131). Additionally, phone calls from AT&T are now successfully connecting to 9-1-1.

Earlier today, it was reported that due to last night's storms, the City of Peoria experienced phone issues affecting non-emergency numbers and the 9-1-1 center. The Police Department's non-emergency number (309-673-4521) and the Fire Department's non-emergency number (309-674-3131) were down.

The outage was linked to a widespread AT&T service disruption, preventing calls from that carrier from reaching 9-1-1. However, callers using AT&T were assured they would still receive assistance. Any call that did not connect to 9-1-1 was returned by a dispatcher using Rapid SOS, a program enabling dispatchers to see phone numbers and return calls immediately.

Residents needing to report downed trees or limbs blocking streets, alleys, or sidewalks were advised to contact Public Works at 309-494-8800.
