Sidewalk removal work has commenced at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and NE Adams Street, near the Peoria County Courthouse. Work is also ongoing at the intersections of Fulton Plaza and SW Adams Street. The sidewalks near 123 and 201 SW Adams Street currently have limited pedestrian access.

The sidewalk work at the intersection of Main Street and NE Adams Street is nearing completion, with sidewalks near 100 NE Adams Street expected to reopen to pedestrian access soon. The work at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and NE Adams Street, near 201 Adams Street, has been completed.

Pedestrians are advised to exercise caution near these closures and cross the street at the next available intersection. It is important to note that the design of ADA sidewalk ramps at completed intersections has changed, so pedestrians should be aware of the new design.

Lane and parking restrictions remain in effect along SW Adams Street. On-street parking restrictions are clearly marked. Drivers should look for unbagged, available parking meters for on-street parking. If parking meters are bagged with “No Parking” signs, drivers should avoid those spots as parking there will result in a ticket and vehicle removal at the owner’s expense.

Additional parking, lane, and sidewalk restrictions will be forthcoming as the Adams Street and Jefferson Avenue One-Way to Two-Way (OWTW) Conversion Project progresses.
