Stark County taxpayers ranked 92nd in total sales taxes paid per county in June, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Stark County residents paid $48,705 in sales taxes during June.

Stark County ranked 91st in the Prairie State the month before, with $53,716 spent in sales taxes.

The Special County Retailers Occupation Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Stark County residents in June.

As of 2021, Illinois was the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes were 39.83% higher than the national average.
