The City of Peoria has issued a reminder to residents regarding the prohibition of private signs in public right-of-way areas. This includes political, yard sale, and temporary business signs. Any such signs placed illegally should be removed promptly.

Starting on Friday, Sept. 27, the Department of Public Works will begin removing these private signs from the right-of-way. These areas include medians and spaces between the curb and sidewalk.

According to City Ordinance, signs on residential properties cannot exceed 8 square feet, while those on non-residential properties are limited to 32 square feet.

For more information or questions about this policy, residents can contact Public Works at 309-494-8800.
