City of El Paso Zoning Board of Appeals met Aug. 29.

The City of El Paso Zoning Board Meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Chairman, Chris Gentes.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Roll call was taken with Members Renee Donaldson, Nancy Johnson, Maureen Drake, Chris Gentes, John Landrus and Ken Faulk present.
Absent was Mary Wilkey.
Others present were Director of Public Service, Barry Kauther; Administrative Assistant, Sandee Kessinger; Councilman, Will Moore; Ryan and Michelle Unzicker.
No one was present on Zoom.
The first action is a request from Ryan Unzicker who is requesting a recommendation for the property located at southwest corner of Main Street (Route 24) and South Oak Street (County Road 2800 East). No addresses have been assigned, but legal descriptions were provided. The applicant is requesting that the existing preliminary (04/2004) and primary plan/plat (08/2004) first phase for the Planned Unit Development to the Fresh Air Senior Complex that was accepted by the City of El Paso be repealed. After discussion, a motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Chris Gentes to recommend that the City Council repeal the preliminary and primary plats. A voice vote was taken of all ayes.
The second action is a request from Ryan Unzicker who is requesting conditional approval for property located at southwest corner of Main Street (Route 24) and South Oak Street (County Road 2800 East). No addresses have been assigned, but legal descriptions were provided. The applicant is requesting that a new preliminary plan be accepted for the property. Under Chapter 260 Subdivision of Land, section 260-15 requires conditional approval from the Zoning Board. After some discussion, a motion was made by Gentes and seconded by Donaldson to recommend that the City Council approve the preliminary plat presented by the Unzickers with the following:
∙ The easements be shown on the plat
∙ That trees be planted on each lot according to the El Paso City Code §260-39 ∙ That there is no need for public sidewalks as there are no other sidewalks to connect to.
Donaldson moved to adjourn the meeting and Drake seconded. The Meeting was adjourned at 6:38 PM.
