Sidewalk removal work has commenced on the northeast side of the intersection of Liberty Street and SW Adams Street, close to 300 Liberty Street. The project is part of ongoing sidewalk improvements at several intersections along Adams Street.

Work continues on the north side of Harrison Street and SW Adams Street intersection, near 400 SW Adams Street, and on the northwest side of Liberty Street and SW Adams Street intersection, near 300 SW Adams Street. Additionally, efforts are ongoing at Hamilton Boulevard and NE Adams Street intersection, in proximity to the Peoria County Courthouse.

Upcoming sidewalk removal work is planned for the northeast side of N William Kumpf Boulevard and SW Adams Street intersection, near 500 SW Adams Street.

Liberty Street remains closed to all traffic between SW Adams Street and SW Jefferson Avenue. This closure is expected to last six weeks, depending on weather conditions. Traffic from Jefferson Avenue and Adams Street should use Harrison Street as a detour route.

Restrictions on lanes and parking continue along SW Adams Street. On-street parking restrictions are clearly marked. Drivers should seek unbagged parking meters for available spaces. Parking meters with “No Parking” signs indicate restricted areas where parking will lead to a ticket and vehicle removal at the owner's expense.

Further restrictions related to parking, lanes, and sidewalks will be announced as progress continues on the Adams Street and Jefferson Avenue One-Way to Two-Way (OWTW) Conversion Project.
