Numerous roads in Downtown will be closed on Monday, November 11, due to the Veterans Day Parade. The event is sponsored by the American Legion Post 2 and will commence at 10 a.m., with road closures beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until noon.

Parking restrictions will be enforced along the parade route, and drivers are encouraged to use caution and patience. Alternative routes and marked detours are recommended for those traveling through the area.

The parade starts at W. Romeo B. Garrett Avenue and N. William Kumpf Boulevard, moving northeast on S.W. Monroe Street, then southeast on Main Street before ending northeast on N.E. Adams at Hamilton Boulevard. A ceremony will follow at the Peoria County Courthouse.

At 9 a.m., W. Romeo B. Garrett Avenue will close between N. Richard Pryor Place and N. William Kumpf Boulevard, while N. Hightower Street closes at W. Romeo B. Garrett Avenue.

By 9:45 a.m., intermittent traffic flow directed by police will occur on N. William Kumpf Boulevard at its intersection with W. Romeo B. Garret Avenue and S.W Monroe Street; meanwhile, S.W Monroe Street closes at this intersection too.

Additional closures include Fulton Street at S.W Madison Avenue; Main Street both at N.E Perry Avenue and again further down towards N.E Washington Street; several streets including N.E Monroe, Madison, Jefferson Avenues all closing near Hamilton Boulevard as well as sections of S.W Adams St between Fulton St extending till Hamilton Blvd

Detour routes suggest using S.W Washington St from Liberty St for through traffic on S.W Adams St or from Hamilton Blvd when navigating around closures affecting areas like NE Jefferson Ave
