City of El Paso City Council met Oct. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

A Regular Meeting of the El Paso City Council was called to order by Mayor Price on October 7, 2024, at 7:00 PM.

Council Members Present: Brucker, Howard, Kilpatrick, Moore, and Mool. Absent: Ragusa. It was reported the meeting is being recorded.

Present in Person: Director of Public Services Barry Kauther, Treasurer Linda Haas, Administrative Assistant Sandee Kessinger, Attorney James Stoller, Clerk David Fever and Police Chief Joe Montemurro. Also present: Karen Wilkey, Lisa Hocker, Josh Gray and Jenny Kearney as the local press.

Also present by Zoom Application: Names on zoom software were Terry, T, Kerry's IPad and Kim.

Pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited.

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mool, seconded by Moore to approve the agenda as presented. Voice vote taken of all ayes.

Consent Agenda.

Council Minutes: The minutes of the September 16, 2024, City Council Meeting were presented in written form.

Zoning Board Minutes: The minutes of the October 3, 2024, Zoning Board Meeting were presented in written form.

Register of Bills: The Register of Bills in the amount of $141,271.67 as of October 7th was presented.

Approval of Consent Agenda: Motion by Kilpatrick, seconded by Moore to approve items on consent agenda. Voice call vote taken of all ayes.

Public Comments: None.

Old Business: None.

New Business:

Swearing in of Police Officers: Clerk Fever swore in the following Police Officers: Katherine Stauffer, Jeffery Gabor and Demetrius Harper.

Rezoning Proposed Ordinance 1080: Proposed Ordinance 1080, an Ordinance C-2. Roll call vote taken of all ayes.

Motion by Mool, seconded by Howard to approve rezoning the property at 198 S. Pine Street from RC to

Director of Public Service: Report was presented in written form, and he thanked city staff who helped with fall clean up day last Saturday morning. He also spoke of a proposed solar farm south of the city limits on the west side of Route 251, it is in unincorporated Woodford County and it is unsure whether our Comprehensive Plan matters.

Mayor's Report: The mayor spoke of IML Conference attended in Chicago.

City Council Comments: None.

Police Chief Report: The Chief's report for August was received. He also spoke of a taser warranty grant he was studying, he showed a plaque of people who have contributed to National Night Out that will be displayed at Kirby Foods, and he continues to study different community alert systems.

City Attorney: Attorney Stoller had nothing additional to report.

City Clerk: Clerk reported sales tax revenue for July was down 0.83% and but up .22% for first seven months of 2024 from same period in 2023.

Motion by Mool seconded by Moore to adjourn. Voice vote taken of all ayes. The meeting was adjourned at 7:31 PM.
