The City of Peoria Department of Public Works has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the Glen Avenue Reconstruction Project. This event is scheduled for Friday, November 15, at 10 a.m. It will take place in front of Concordia Lutheran School, located at 2000 W Glen Ave.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony and is advised to use Concordia Lutheran School's parking facilities.
The reconstruction project on Glen Avenue spanned from War Memorial Drive to University Street. It was a two-year endeavor that commenced in March 2023 and cost $13.6 million. The project involved replacing existing pavement, installing new curbs and gutters, improving storm sewers, and upgrading pedestrian accommodations.
