City of Marquette Heights City Council met Nov. 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER

The City Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M by Mayor Hamm

ROLL CALL

The following were present for Roll Call: Alderman Babb, Neuhaus, Amundson, Greiner, Neumann and Joos.

Also present were Mayor Hamm, Clerk Steele, Deputy Treasurer Russell, Street Superintendent Helms, Water Superintendent Smith, Police Chief Merritt, Office Manager Fogle, Building Inspector Dearborn and Attorney Gaster

Absent:

Fire Chief Hermacinski

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS

Mayor

• Recognize today November 11 2024 as Veterans Day

o Thank you to all who have served, please stand for recognition

Clerk

Treasurer

• Would like to do a Quarter review next committee meeting

Attorney

Building Inspector

No Report

Communication

No Report.

Citizens Wishing to Address the Council

None.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES:

Water and Sewer – Alderman Amundson

• Altorfer will start servicing generators

o The sent the wrong amount for the original quote and will be writing a refund check for the change (totaling over $1,000.00)

Law Enforcement – Alderman Neuhaus

• IT is looking at getting a new PC for the office

o Quoted approx.. $1,200.00

o Computer to be ordered

Fire – Alderman Griener

• November 24th at 10am – 12pm Pictures with Santa

o Toy and Food drive

Streets – Alderman Babb

• Spray patch

o Located in Dickson

o Good machine, runs good

o $19,995.00

o Make some adjustments to fit our equipment

o Will make a schedule for when to use monthly during year

o Make a public notice when running machine

Parks/Buildings – Alderman Neuman

• Tree City annual report is due December 31st

• Bath room winterizing

o When the temperature drops down

• Flags replaced around town

• Neuhaus talks about park and ride block

o 68 available

o $3,000.00 budgeted

o Ron, Tod, Bob and Justin to determine the amount needed

Planning – Alderman Joos

CONSENT AGENDA

APPROVAL OF THE FOLLOWING CONSENT ITEMS BY VOTE:

(All matters listed under CONSENT AGENDA will be enacted by one motion and one roll call vote.

There will not be separate discussion on these items. If discussion is desired by any Member of the City Council, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and discussed immediately after approval of the Consent Agenda.)

a. Approve the regular Council Meeting Minutes of October 28, 2024.

b. Approve the regular Committee Meeting Minutes of November 4, 2024.

c. Approve October 28, 2024, Executive Council Meeting Minutes.

d. Approve Bi-Monthly expenditures in the sum of $ 142,312.36

e. Approve the purchase of a Spray Patcher not to be more then $20,000.00

ITEMS REMOVED FROM CONSENT AGENDA:

• (B) Approve the regular Committee Meeting Minutes of November 4, 2024.

Alderman Greiner made a motion to approve Item B, seconded by Alderman Amundson Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Alderman Neuhaus, Greiner, Babb and Joos. Nays - Neuman. Motion passed.

• (C) Approve October 28, 2024, Executive Council Meeting Minutes.

Alderman Neuman made a motion to approve Item C, seconded by Alderman Neuhaus Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Alderman Neuman, Neuhaus, Babb and Joos. Nays - Greiner. Motion passed.

APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA:

Alderman Greiner made a motion, seconded by Alderman Amundson to approve the Consent Agenda in its entirety. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Alderman Neuman, Neuhaus, Greiner, Joos and Babb. Nays - None. Motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

a. Discussion of a Planning Commission Board

i. ADA accessibility plan

1. The Commission Board must do the plan

2. Set a new Commission Board?

b. Discussion of changes to the Men’s Club Lease

i. Table until after election

ADJOURNMENT

Alderman Greiner made a motion, seconded by Alderman Amundson to adjourn the regular City Council Meeting at 7:34 p.m. Roll Call Vote: All Ayes. Motion passed.
