Today, Congressman Darin LaHood of Illinois' 16th Congressional District was sworn into the 119th Congress. This marks his fifth full term since first being elected in 2015.
In a statement, LaHood expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue serving his constituents. "I am humbled and honored to represent Illinois’ 16th Congressional District in the 119th Congress. I will continue to provide high-quality constituent services and advocate for conservative Midwestern values," he said.
LaHood emphasized collaboration with colleagues and the administration, stating, "I look forward to working with all my colleagues in Congress and President Trump to deliver on the promises made to the American people."
He also reaffirmed his support for Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House, highlighting shared goals. "Together, we will strengthen our economy, secure our border, restore American energy independence, and return to American peace through strength," LaHood added.
LaHood is committed to representing central and northwestern Illinois over the next two years.
