Darin LaHood discusses agriculture policies and celebrates legislative progress

Darin LaHood, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 16th district since 2015, shared insights on his recent activities through social media posts. LaHood, who succeeded Aaron Schock and resides in Peoria, Illinois, holds degrees from Loras College and John Marshall Law School.

On January 29, 2025, LaHood began his day by meeting with members of the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau to discuss agricultural and tax policy priorities. He emphasized the importance of engaging directly with farmers in one of the largest agricultural districts in the nation. "Kicked off my day meeting with members of the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau to talk about priorities for agriculture and tax policy."

Later that day, he expressed satisfaction over President Biden's signing of the Laken Riley Act into law. The legislation aims to prevent tragedies similar to those it addresses, reflecting a commitment by House Republicans to community protection. "I am thrilled that @POTUS signed the Laken Riley Act into law."

In another post on January 29, 2025, LaHood congratulated Lee Zeldin on becoming the new EPA Administrator. He expressed eagerness to collaborate towards achieving energy independence for America by utilizing its natural resources. "Congratulations to new EPA Administrator @LeeMZeldin!"
