Darin LaHood discusses fire department visit and introduces resolution during National Catholic Schools Week

Darin LaHood, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 16th district, has shared insights and greetings through a series of tweets. LaHood, who succeeded Aaron Schock in 2015, continues to engage with his constituents and colleagues on various topics.

On January 30, 2025, LaHood expressed gratitude towards Chief Corl for the invitation to visit the Cherry Valley Fire Department’s training center. He acknowledged their efforts in preparing first responders for emergencies by stating "Thanks to Chief Corl for inviting me to the Cherry Valley Fire Department’s training center and showing me how they prepare first responders to handle emergency situations. They go above and beyond to ensure community safety!"

The following day, January 31, 2025, LaHood extended birthday wishes to Speaker Johnson with a brief message: "Happy birthday to @SpeakerJohnson!"

Later that day, he reflected on National Catholic Schools Week by announcing a bipartisan resolution introduced alongside Rep. Richard Neal, Sen. Eric Schmitt, and Sen. Tim Kaine. As an alumnus of Catholic schools himself, he conveyed appreciation for educators' dedication with his tweet: "As we wrap up National Catholic Schools Week, I was proud to introduce a bipartisan resolution with @RepRichardNeal, @SenEricSchmitt, and @SenTimKaine.
