On January 30, 2025, LaHood expressed gratitude towards Chief Corl for the invitation to visit the Cherry Valley Fire Department’s training center. He acknowledged their efforts in preparing first responders for emergencies by stating "Thanks to Chief Corl for inviting me to the Cherry Valley Fire Department’s training center and showing me how they prepare first responders to handle emergency situations. Later that day, he reflected on National Catholic Schools Week by announcing a bipartisan resolution introduced alongside Rep. Richard Neal, Sen. Eric Schmitt, and Sen. Tim Kaine.
