FOIA Request to Woodford County Il Clerk Election Division Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Peoria Standard have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) for records related to the upcoming election.
Our request specifically asks for a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election. We have requested that this list include each candidate's first, middle, and last name; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of the office; and their party affiliation.
In addition to these details, we have also asked for all available contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. In line with this role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await a response from the Woodford County Il Clerk Election Division and will continue our efforts to provide accurate and timely information about local government affairs.
