Darin LaHood, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 16th district since 2015, has been vocal about several pressing issues through his social media presence. On February 6, 2025, he expressed strong support for federal immigration law enforcement and applauded actions taken by the Trump Administration against local governments perceived as non-compliant.

In a post on February 6, 2025, LaHood emphasized that "violating federal immigration laws will not be tolerated under the Trump Administration." He commended President Donald Trump and Pam Bondi for their decision to initiate legal action against Chicago and Illinois for allegedly failing to enforce these laws.

Later on the same day, February 6, 2025, LaHood turned his attention to the ongoing fentanyl crisis. He noted that "lives are at stake" and announced his vote in favor of the HALT Fentanyl Act. LaHood praised Representatives Morgan Griffith and Bob Latta for their efforts to enhance community safety through this legislation.

On February 7, 2025, Darin LaHood highlighted concerns over national security related to technology from China. As a member of both the House Intelligence Committee and the Committee on China’s Communist Party (CCP), he asserted that "the CCP's DeepSeek poses a serious national security threat." He discussed efforts to advance bipartisan legislation aimed at banning this app from U.S. government devices during an appearance on CNBC's Squawk Box with Representative Josh Gottheimer.
