After a brief pause from the morning's snowfall, snow resumed falling across much of the city as of 4:30 pm. The snowfall is expected to continue into the early evening hours, with an additional 1-2 inches possible.

The city's Snowfighters have worked diligently, and due to their efforts and the break in snowfall, primary streets are currently in good condition and passable. However, caution is advised as some roadways, particularly residential streets, may still be partially covered with snow and slick spots could occur. With the resumption of snow, travelers should remain aware of changing road conditions during their evening commutes. It is recommended to drive slower than usual and allow for extra stopping distance.

Public Works crews are operating on 12-hour shifts around the clock and will continue these operations until further notice. Crews will focus on treating primary roads and emergency snow routes as long as the snow continues.

Once two inches of snow have accumulated in the city and snowfall has ceased, Snowfighters are prepared to treat residential streets. Upon meeting these conditions, crews will begin working in neighborhoods to address residential street conditions.

"Drive slowly, stay safe, and have a great evening!"
